Transformation is a wonderful experience. However, as always, there are two sides to every coin.
In the beginning, it was always easier to blame my past hurts and failures on my parents, the education system, being a woman, etcetera and so on. Why? Well, because the aforementioned are partly to blame! Yet, with transformation comes clarity. You only need to be prepared to face it. Face what? Face the fact that you are largely responsible for how you feel and where you are in your life at present. This revelation takes courage to admit. I know that it took me awhile to “take up my bed and walk” (John 5:8 KJV). Growing up spiritually means you are now in a position to properly deal with your emotions, choices, fears, and that can be messy. The question is “Do you want to be well”(John 5:6 KJV)? Well as in well equipped, well rounded, well able… whatever your desired state of being.
Even though transformation is in the realm of the Spirit, we all have a part to play in our deliverance.
These thoughts have come to my mind recently because I believed I had become distracted and had allowed my ego to get in the way of progress. I have my struggles too. Actually my ego had gotten in the way but guess what? That’s part of the process!
Going deeper, mining the treasures of who you are beneath the layers of life experience can be a little scary. I mean, who knows what you’re going to find in there! Many of us have forgotten much of what we swept under the rug. Thankfully we are not alone. The Spirit of God, the Source of All, is ever present, especially in the scary places. We only need to call on The Lord with confidence. The confidence in God grows as you grow. Growing in faith comes through getting to know the One your heart loves. Believe me, all of nature is on board, including your physical body. It’s the mind that needs the divine infusion.
Let us come to the throne of God with confidence; where we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:19.
