“Delay not to seize the hour!” ~ Aeschylus

“For with You is the source of life, and in Your light we shall see light.
Extend Your kindness to those who know you
And your righteousness to the upright of heart.”
(Psalm 36: 10:11)

The Light is in us. When we are in prayer we are connecting to that Light in us. This is why prayer is so important. It is an intimacy like no other. When we think of intimacy, it is usually sexual union. Yet, the union between a man and a woman pales in comparison. However it is the marriage union that mirrors intimacy with God, as in a prayer filled life.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh”. Gen. 2:24

That word “cleave” is the Hebrew word dabaq, which means cling or adhere; figuratively, to catch by pursuit- to abide.

Prayer is how we can abide in The Lord; to dwell in God.

We abide in our homes. Our homes are protection from the elements, how we protect our possessions from thieves and how we provide a safe haven for our families. Prayer is like living in him every day!

With that in mind, how good is your housekeeping?

Are you taking the time to keep house? Or are you so busy that when you are home, it is only to sleep and eat? Many of us live to work and work to live, but never truly enjoy the benefits of all that working.

Sure we buy things, but so many times we are off to buy something else while our last purchase is still in the bag!

A life without prayer is like that. We are blessed beyond measure, though we seldom realize it. First of all we are alive! It’s only when the sh*&t hits the fan that we remember to call on the name of The Lord.

Let’s not wait.

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly.” Buddha

Rules for Living and Spirituality

What other similarities can we attribute to the longer life expectancy of French and Japanese women?

In Japan, there is Shinto and Buddhism, which are a part of the nation’s fabric. Most of the religious ritual in Japanese culture is national ceremony. It is ingrained and not seen as separate religion. Spirituality is living normally. A way of life.

The case of spirituality for the French or shall I say the lack of it, is difficult to describe in the breadth of this post.
However, French longevity may also be due in part to their way of life. “Joie de vivre” is an integral part of the French social structure. This theme, to enjoy life and savor it exuberantly, can be seen as French spirituality. For example, a French pastime is sitting hours on end at a café, sipping and people watching. In the U.S., typically we do coffee via drive thru but if we do sit down it is still rushed as we are thinking or worrying about what is next on the agenda!

Another tidbit that may play a role, French and Japanese dine with their families. They commune with each other regularly which is community, rather than sitting at the same table but watching television or on the cellphone.

Japanese and French women work, have children, husbands, etc., typical responsibilities like the rest of us.
It is the “style” in which they do it that provides a center.
Not God specifically but ritual that allows for mindfulness which leads to a balanced life.

Beauty inside out is about revealing that which resides in you, by what you do, how you feel and how you look! In our reality t.v driven, “Keepin up with the dysfunctional” world, everything is visual.

Walking as the Bride in the Kingdom of God; Beauty Treatment #10 Consistency

The little successes along the way make you a success by doing those things that work over and over again, refining as we go. Admittedly, I have been slacking. Truth be told, I was so overwhelmed by what God has been doing in my life by following the “treatments” I became amazed and impressed with my Self and “fell of the wagon” as it were.

2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness”. Galatians 3:2-6 NIV

Christ in you, the hope of glory!

Abundance Flows Freely Through Me!

19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
2 Corinthians 1:19-20 NIV

Yes is a foreign word to most of us. We have been hearing no from the day we arrived on this planet! Most of the time, it was “No” to protect us from doing something that might hurt us. As toddlers or as we grew older, it was to make us aware of what was considered wrong or bad manners in our social structure. However, having grown accustomed to hearing it since the beginning of our lives, many of us have been conditioned by the word, no. We expect it.

So, when we begin to walk in the Kingdom mindset it is almost like when we were 1st toddling about as babies. Except as babies we had no previous instruction, clean slates. By now, we have had plenty of instruction. No is in there deep, so much so, we are not even aware. As such, taking steps in our Christ mind can be very timid, or it takes ions between steps because we are so certain NO is just ahead!

Try something new. For the next few days, think yes. Not a random, I hope so, but an emphatic yes! For everything that is a positive for your life, think yes. For the large and the small. Yes! Yes! Yes!

I am writing on this subject because I have been looking at the “no” in my life. Of course there are times that no is necessary. The problem is, when you show up with no on your mind that is what you get.

The objective of this exercise is to evict no from your expectation!

For example, the other day I was running errands and ran out of money but I was hungry. As a foodie, you know that I am against hunger! I drive over to a fast food restaurant for a cheap burger to hold me over and as I am approaching the drive-thru I realize I have exact change but I like tomatoes added which is extra. I am rarely charged the tomato charge, maybe once-which is how I know about it. Anyway, I’m thinking “I do not have enough for the tomato charge, I hope they do not say No. Guess what? They said no. I had to go without tomatoes! Silly? Sure, but I missed out on tomatoes because of my thinking. My expectation of no, made me miss out on juicy tomato slices for my burger.

Moral of the story? Don’t miss out on tomatoes because of stinkin thnkin!

“By Myself I can do nothing.”

The Walk of the Bride in the Kingdom of God is continuously unfolding. It is as if each step taken opens to more and more of Him; that is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.
These tenets or beauty treatments were inspired from studying the Book of Esther in the Holy Bible. The tenets are:

Prayer, Praise, Purity, Practicing the Presence of God, Beauty of Holiness
Mind of Christ, Humility, Giving, Trust, Consistency

In earlier posts, the tenets were described individually, to be walked out in our daily lives. As I have often said, I am walking it out as I go, along with you, Precious Reader! I believe The Lord has inspired this “Walk” to help us to grow in intimacy with Him so that we might increase in every area of our lives! This is His desire for all of His children but I perceive this specific inspiration is particularly for His daughters. The tenet concepts are for all, but the “feel” is female.

What about Beauty inside Out?
This theme is perhaps the foundation of what we are experiencing in this walk. Beauty is in Christ. It is to be complete in Him. Beauty inside; more of Him = Beauty inside and out!

“But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted”! John 15:7 NLT

All Aboard!

Consistency

Over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed an increase in search visits regarding consistency. Interestingly, I have been in prayer about this aspect of the path in recent days.
Perhaps the Holy Spirit is moving in this area.

For in him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.17 He is before all things and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:16-17

Consistency is that which strengthens our faith. It is as we walk this path daily, moment by moment, that we are knit together in Christ, as the Bride, advancing in the things of God. Consistently praying, praising, pursuing purity and practicing His presence; it is cultivating the seeds planted in the spirit. As a practitioner, I have noticed how a lack of consistency in one area impacts all. If I pray on again, off again because I am so busy with life, I find life becomes busier. As I become overwhelmed with the busy-ness, I’m too frustrated to be thankful and nothing seems quite praiseworthy. If I am striving, without praise, it is so much easier to snap off than speak peacefully and the pursuit of purity is like trying to untangle string. Get the picture?

The idea is to be aware, keeping tabs on where you are in your inner life. Something as random as stomping your toe on the way out of the house is a good signal that you may need to check where you are. There is a reason behind the pain in your throbbing toe. You don’t stomp your toe every day, do you? If so, an intervention is pending!
Take a day off or at least a few hours and have a spiritual retreat.
Remove yourself from noise, clutter, anything that could distract your peace.
Take this time to get your Soul Train back on its rails!
Where have you been missing it? Who or what has you off course?

No Cross, No Crown!

After proclaiming the Message in Derbe and establishing a strong core of disciples, they retraced their steps to Lystra, then Iconium, and then Antioch, putting muscle and sinew in the lives of the disciples, urging them to stick with what they had begun to believe and not quit, making it clear to them that it wouldn’t be easy: “Anyone signing up for the kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times.”
Acts 14:21-22

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful people lay hold of it!
